1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes the permitted and prohibited uses of the PlanBill service ("Service") operated by Ecle Coastal LLC d/b/a PlanBill. It forms part of our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.

2. Permitted use

You may use the Service only for lawful business purposes, including:

  • Managing your own accounting, invoicing, expenses, estimates, and related business data.
  • Storing and processing data that you have the right to use and that complies with applicable law.
  • Using assistant and automation features (e.g., receipt and invoice processing, reports) in accordance with their intended use and our documentation.
  • Integrating with third-party services where we provide such integration and you comply with their terms.

3. Prohibited conduct

You may not use the Service to:

  • Break the law: Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights (including intellectual property, privacy, and data protection).
  • Harm others: Harass, defame, threaten, or harm any person or entity; distribute malware, spam, or phishing; or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, network, or data.
  • Abuse the Service: Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or underlying algorithms (except as permitted by law); circumvent security, access controls, or usage limits; or use automated means (e.g., bots, scrapers) in a way that burdens our systems or violates our terms.
  • Abuse usage limits: Circumvent or abuse usage caps (e.g., creating multiple accounts to obtain more free scans or assistant queries than your plan allows). We may throttle or suspend access for excessive or abusive use.
  • Misuse AI features: Use the PlanBill Assistant or other AI-powered features to extract proprietary system information (e.g., prompts or internal logic), inject malicious or unauthorized instructions, or deliberately generate fraudulent, misleading, or illegal content (including fake or forged financial documents).
  • Misuse content: Upload or process content that is illegal, infringing, offensive, or that you do not have the right to use; or use the Service to generate or distribute illegal or harmful content.
  • Resell or sublicense: Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties as a service unless we have agreed in writing (e.g., a separate partner or white-label agreement).
  • Evade enforcement: Create multiple accounts or use the Service in a way intended to evade suspension, termination, or legal process.

4. Data and security

You are responsible for the data you upload and for ensuring that your use of the Service (including assistant and automation features) does not expose personal or confidential data in violation of law or your own obligations. You must not attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related system without our authorization.

5. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, and report illegal activity to authorities. We are not obligated to monitor the Service but may do so to enforce this AUP and protect our users and systems. We may update this AUP from time to time; the "Last updated" date will reflect changes, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
